Planning Commission Ponte Vista Hearings |
 |
|
Jerry Gaines, Board Member and former Charter Reform Commissioner who participated in the drafting of regulations that relate to Planning Commissions, has informed us of the following:
- Any development project that has a minimum of 50 units is assigned to the Citywide Planning Commission for decision making purposes.
- The Commission was scheduled to meet December 11 at downtown City Hall, City Hall Chambers--Room 340, 200 N. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012 at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning with several items on the agenda including the Ponte Vista matter. The CASE No. is CPC 2006-8043-GPA-ZC-SP-DA.
- The Harbor Area Planning Commission met December 2 but only one commissioner showed up. HAPC can only hold local informational sessions.
- The City Planning Department's Report and Findings (click to read) has now been released, rejecting the current Ponte Vista plan but indicating that the appropriate zoning is probably Low Medium I, which would allow up to about 886 units. By providing affordable units for low-income families, that number could increase to 1,196.
- Interested stakeholders are invited to make responses to the report at the upcoming Citywide Planning Commission meeting.
